Clearwater International has welcomed a Manchester-based partner within its debt advisory team following a sustained period of growth for the service line.
Tom Barnwell has been appointed to partner following more than eight years with the business, having joined as associate director in 2014.
He has played an integral role in developing Clearwater’s debt advisory strategy and has become a well-known name for private equity-backed businesses across the UK.
The team experienced a strong year of deal activity during 2021, where they completed more than 50 transactions and raised circa £1.7bn of funding for clients.
The latest appointment follows a period of growth for the team, which saw a number of hires during the last 12 months.
Debt advisory is an integral part of Clearwater’s strategy and an area the firm is committed to expanding to continue supporting clients faced with a range of funding options.
Barnwell added: “I’m looking forward to continuing my role in the growth of the business and to delivering more great outcomes for our clients.”
During his time at Clearwater, Barnwell has been involved in more than 75 transactions across multiple sectors with an aggregate value in excess of £3.4bn.
His recent transactions include advising Livingbridge on raising debt facilities to support the investment in North SP Group, advising Waterland Private Equity on its investment in imc, and dvising Palatine on the sale of Verdant Leisure to The William Pears Group.
