PITTSBURGH — Michael Devoe scored 22 points, Rodney Howard scored 14 and Georgia Tech beat Pittsburgh 68-62 on Saturday night to end its three-game losing streak.
Devoe made a pair of foul shots for a 28-26 lead with 3:47 left before halftime and the Yellow Jackets led the rest of the way.
Later, Devoe hit a jumper with 5:43 remaining for a 63-45 lead. The Panthers applied a full-court press which helped them turn over the Yellow Jackets and a 14-0 run brought them within 63-59 in a 3:30 stretch.
But Devoe buried a 3-pointer with 2:06 remaining, Kyle Sturdivant added another and the Yellow Jackets sealed it making 4 of 5 foul shots in the final 24 seconds to end Pitt’s three-game win streak.
Jordan Usher added 10 points for Georgia Tech, which also ended its three-game road losing streak.
Mouhamadou Gueye scored 27 points on 10-for-15 shooting and grabbed 12 rebounds for the Panthers, John Hugley scored 18 points — shooting 7 for 10 — and grabbed 11 rebounds and Ithiel Horton scored 10.
The Yellow Jackets (11-15, 4-11 ACC) head to Syracuse to face the Orange on Monday. Pitt (11-17, 6-11) hosts Miami on Tuesday.

SFU men fall
LORETTO — On a day dedicated to the five seniors, it was sophomores Zahree Harrison and Josh Cohen who shined for Saint Francis University in the box score. However, it came in the form of an overtime loss.
The duo posted 45 of the Red Flash’s 72 points on the afternoon in an 80-72 Northeast Conference matchup against St. Francis Brooklyn on Saturday.
Cohen registered 25 points while Harrison notched a career-high 20 points in the loss.
Seniors honored included Chukwu Ikediashi, A.J. Labriola, Mark Flagg, Ramiir Dixon-Conover and Tyler Stewart.
“I told our guys at the beginning of the game, we could make an excuse, we could talk about what we don’t have, we could look at all of the circumstances or we could look at all of the blessings, the positive side of a lot of things. I know we were a little shorthanded, that’s the reality. It’s not an excuse. There are going to be opportunities in life where things aren’t going to go your way. As an individual, you have your choice in how you respond,” SFU coach Rob Krimme said.
Saint Francis plays at Central Connecticut State on Thursday.

SFU women lose
BROOKLYN — The Saint Francis University women’s basketball team dropped their final road game of the regular season, 57-54, in overtime to St. Francis Brooklyn on Saturday in Northeast Conference action.
Senior Jada Dapaa set a career-high with 23 points and four steals. She added 17 rebounds and one block. She became the fifth player in program history to grab 300 rebounds in one season.
Kaitlyn Maxwell was second on the team with nine points and dished out five assists. Jordan McLemore recorded four assists and Aaliyah Moore grabbed six rebounds.
St. Francis Brooklyn’s Ally Lassen had a game-high 17 points.
Saint Francis hosts Central Connecticut State on Thursday.
